Boost Your Immunity With Warming Tea

Let me begin with hot water. The simple ritual of boiling and drinking hot water first thing in the morning has tremendous benefits. Hot water is wonderful to cleanse and hydrate the digestive system and stimulate the lymphatic system. Hot water strengthens the digestive enzymes in the liver. This allows for the breakdown of nutrients and the removal of toxins in the body, which can be enhanced by adding herbs and spices.

Tea Variations:

1- hot water and lemon - ¼ lemon per 8 oz boiling water

2- hot water with fennel seeds - 1 tsp per 8 oz boiling water

3- hot water with ginger root - add ½ tsp ginger root per 8 oz before boiling

(Make sure to boil for 10 minutes to purify completely)

So what’s the science behind drinking hot water? A study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology found that consuming warm or hot water relieved pain in those experiencing IBS - irritable bowel syndrome. Other studies on drinking hot water showed improvements in bowel function and relief in sinus congestion, coughing, sore throat, and other cold symptoms, while drinking cold water increased mucus. Genia’s Spoon Me Tips

Dandelion Tea is excellent for the liver. I started drinking dandelion tea decades ago when I was healing from my eczema. I was following a strict food plan to heal my skin from the inside out. These rituals helped me strengthen my liver and healed my rashes. It took a lot of work on my part to follow protocol, but it was worth every tea cup. There are many other benefits to dandelion tea - Check out PubMed and Dr. Axe for more information.

Last but not least - sometimes I’m in the mood for a dessert, but I must say - my teas satisfy my sweet tooth and I feel so much better afterwards.

Much love and teas,
Genia
